Master in Sleep Medicine

The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Sleep Medicine is a predominantly online postgraduate program. It includes two in-person seminars - the Sleep Medicine School (Summer 2027) and the Sleep Science School (Winter 2028) - held at different locations across Europe. Participants who are unable to travel may attend these seminars online. In addition, students complete a 2–4 week internship at a sleep laboratory of their choice or at one of our partner institutions.

For the 2027–2029 cohort, we are pleased to confirm that the programme will comprise 90 ECTS credits, an increase from the previous 60 ECTS credits. The revised regulations have been approved and are scheduled to be formally signed by the University of Bern and the Università della Svizzera italiana in autumn 2026.

Upon successful completion of the whole program, graduates will receive the diploma "Master of Advanced Studies in Sleep Medicine (MAS SM Unibe USI)" jointly awarded by the University of Bern and the Università della Svizzera italiana.

The program is offered every two years. The next cohort is planned to begin in Spring 2027. Applications are open until 31 January 2027.
