Eligible for the CAS, DAS and MAS are applicants with the following backgrounds:
- medical degree with or without specialization
- psychologists and neuropsychologists
- candidates with a bachelor degree in a biology and/or health related disciplines
- candidates with a Master degree in natural science or engineering
The Program Direction may grant exceptions “sur dossier” .
Applications from candidates without the above-mentioned requirements may be considered, but they must have an adequate scientific background. The Program Direction will assess the content and quality of the candidates' academic record to decide if it fits the requirements for admission and to make sure that the program will be completed successfully.
It is possible to participate to single modules if there are still places available.
The application deadline for the CAS in Sleep, Consciousness and Related Disorders program starting in Summer 2021 is 30 April 2021.

In case of cancellation after the admission deadline, the full tuition fee must be paid. In case a replacement can be found for the cancelled study-place, only a handling fee of CHF 200.- will be charged.
The medical faculties of the University of Bern and the Università della Svizzera italiana award the following degrees with corresponding titles:
Certificate of Advanced Studies in Sleep, Consciousness and Related Disorders, University of Bern, Università della Svizzera italiana (CAS SCD Unibe USI)
Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sleep, Consciousness and Related Disorders, University of Bern, Università della Svizzera italiana (DAS SCD Unibe USI)
Master of Advanced Studies in Sleep, Consciousness and Related Disorders, University of Bern, Università della Svizzera italiana (MAS SCD Unibe USI)
To obtain the degree, all the examinations have to be passed and the required minimum attendance of 80% has to be met.
The CAS SCD is an integrated part of the DAS SCD. The DAS SCD is an integrated part of the MAS SCD. Therefore the students who receive a DAS Diploma will have to return their CAS Certificate and the students who receive a MAS SCD will have to return their DAS Diploma.
